Moore Threads is known for its MTT S80 and S70 video cards, which debuted at the end of 2022. They have good characteristics, good theoretical GPU performance and a 256-bit bus. But in reality, without high-quality software support, they demonstrate an extremely low level of performance. In the first reviews, the MTT S80 showed itself to be at the level of the GeForce GT 1030. Although over the year, thanks to driver updates, the performance of the video card has doubled.
Now the manufacturer is expanding its line of devices. But instead of trying to improve existing graphics cards, it is bringing entry-level models to the market. Information about the ultra-budget Moore Threads S30 video card first appeared last year, but only now has an official driver supporting this model been released. This means that the MTT S30 is already arriving in the Chinese market.
The MTT S30 is based on a MUSA architecture processor with 1024 computing units, a 128-bit bus, and 4 gigabytes of LPDDR4X memory on board. The chip is manufactured using the 12 nm process technology. In fact, this is a “quarter” of the MTT S80, that is, its performance is at an extremely low level. Such a device can be considered as a “plug” for image output in office PCs. She can cope with these tasks quite well. It even has a hardware AV1 decoding unit. Mentions native support for Android applications via the OpenGL ES API. There is support for the Vulkan API. DirectX support is not mentioned anywhere, although older models are compatible with current versions of DirectX. The video card is equipped with one VGA and one HDMI port.
Interestingly, this is not the simplest video card from this manufacturer. MTT S30 has a younger version of MTT S10 with lower frequencies and 2 GB of video memory.
