A demo to test this highly anticipated game for free? It's more than likely and we'll explain why!
Dragon's Dogma 2, the juggernaut of early 2024
The least we can say is that fans of the beloved Dragon's Dogma had to be patient. The first episode of Capcom's action RPG saga was released in 2012. Players have been waiting for a sequel, or even an announcement, for 12 years. Because yes, Dragon's Dogma 2 was announced quite late. If players suspected that the title was in development, it was only in 2022 that they found out thanks to a live anniversary. And if Dragon's Dogma received a rather mixed reception (both critically and in terms of sales), Capcom intends to change the situation with this second opus which promises to be particularly ambitious.
A bigger world, more dynamic action, more numerous classes than ever, an ultra-extensive bestiary and an extremely developed pawn system… What Dragon's Dogma 2 showed us looks particularly impressive. And technically too, the title seems ready to dazzle players. Dragon's Dogma 2 could even offer features that have never been seen before. Suffice to say that there is something to look forward to on March 22, the release date of the game on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
A demo for Dragon's Dogma 2?
Intrigued but not sure if you're convinced? Well know that Dragon's Dogma 2 could well give you the opportunity to form your own opinion for free. Reddit user CannedBeansofDeath has indeed detected an interesting change in the game's listing on Steam (via SteamDB). The title would be tagged “free on demand”, which could indicate the release of a free demo allowing players to test part of the game. This would not be very surprising.
Capcom is used to offering us demos. The Japanese company has done this in particular for its latest big titles, like Resident Evil 4 Remake or Street Fighter 6. It sometimes even takes the opportunity to hide some small bonuses to find. Suffice to say that if the information is confirmed for Dragon's Dogma 2, it will be excellent news for players, both the curious and the fans!
