Now this comes as a surprise: Already on March 14th. Aspyr, which is currently in the headlines with the Tomb Raider remaster games, wants to revive the Battlefront classics. On February 28th The remaster of Star Wars Dark Forces will be released beforehand via Nightdive.
Classics collection
The coming weeks should be particularly interesting for fans of classic Star Wars games. In addition to the remaster appearance of Dark Forces (originally from 1995), two shooter classics from 2004 and 2005 also receive new honors. The classics, not to be confused with Battlefront by DICE, were both created by Pandemic Studios and were distributed by LucasArts. What's exciting is that both titles appear under one name as the Battlefront Classic Collection for all relevant platforms: Steam (PC), Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation and Nintendo Switch. It should be noted that the original games are still available individually on Steam.

Both games should be able to be played online and offline; the “definitive” version is promised. Battlefront 1 comes with the bonus map Jabba's Palace, Battlefront 2 with the bonus maps Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel and Yavin 4: Arena as well as the bonus heroes Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto. The campaign of Battlefront 1 is about battles from the Star Wars films episodes 1 to 6, while Battlefront 2 is about the 501st Legion, an elite legion of the Republican Clone Army. But there is also Galaxy Conquest, which combines tactical battles with strategic elements. Nothing is known about graphical improvements yet.
In multiplayer, online support for up to 64 players is impressive. Fighting takes place on the ground, in space and in the air and in offensive or defensive battles. Cult vehicles such as Speeder Bikes, TIE Fighters, X-Wings and AT-STs are also included. Hero Assault mode is playable for the first time on all ground maps, including Death Star, Kashyyyk, Kamino and Naboo. There are heroes like Yoda and Luke Skywalker, but also villains like Darth Maul, General Grievous or Darth Vader.
