This year's Call of Duty will also appear on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The first game on Xbox Game Pass after Activision Blizzard's acquisition isn't Call of Duty, as we know. The Xbox Business Update announced the action RPG Diablo IV, which will be added to Xbox Game Pass in March.
But most people are probably more interested in what's going on with Call of Duty. The shooter series has been conspicuous by its absence so far.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer spoke to Game File's Stephen Totilo about the topic. Although Spencer didn't have a concrete answer as to when the previous CoD parts would be included in the subscription, he did have a clear statement about all games from the first-party studios.
All games from Xbox Game Studios should be available in Xbox Game Pass at the start of sales, i.e. “Day One”. This of course includes Call of Duty 2024.
Spencer said: “Our intention is to offer the entire portfolio of games from ZeniMax, Activision Blizzard and XGS – Xbox Game Studios – on Game Pass from day one.”
According to Spencer, Activision Blizzard's games want to be published simultaneously for Xbox and PC in Xbox Game Pass. But you still need time to implement this.
Spencer said: “We're working in the background to get them out on PC and console at the same time.”
