Do you have these Samsung smartphones? Rub your hands with joy!
Samsung has confirmed that One UI 6.1 will begin rolling out in “late March” for select Galaxy devices launching in 2023. These devices will receive not only the new features of One UI 6.1, but also the artificial intelligence system, Galaxy AI, from Samsung.
Devices that will receive the update next month include:
But will these devices have access to everything that is in Galaxy AI? Apparently, yes!
Samsung says new AI features coming to these older Galaxy devices include Circle for searching. The impressive Live Translate for phone calls will also come to other devices, as will Interpreter, which is used for personal conversations.
On the Samsung keyboard, Chat Assist will be available with its translation, tone and grammar functions. Likewise, Samsung Notes will have Note Assist with summaries, translations and more on these older devices.
In the Gallery app, Generative Edit will use generative AI to help with advanced photo edits, while Edit Suggestions and Instant Slow-Mo will also be supported on these older Galaxy devices. AI wallpapers will also be available.
The Samsung Internet browser will also receive “Browsing Assist” to summarize news articles. This feature also went unnoticed during Samsung's Galaxy S24 announcement, so it's good to see it expanding.
As for the launch, Samsung says these updates will arrive from “end of March”, but there is no specific date attached. More than likely, they will arrive with each device's respective March 2024 security update, but we'll have to wait and see.
