Hidetaka Miyazaki from FromSoftware leaves the door open for further DLC or Elden Ring 2.
What's next after Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion for Elden Ring coming out in June?
Chief developer Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke to IGN about the possible future of the saga. There is also the possibility of further DLC for Elden Ring as well as a successor.
But there are still no concrete plans.
When asked whether Shadow of the Erdtree is the end of the story or whether there are still DLCs or even an Elden Ring 2 on the horizon, Miyazaki said: “We don't want to say that this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now. I think we said something similar at the end of Dark Souls 3. We didn't want to just trash or throw a spanner in the works of the opportunities that were available at that point. And it's a similar story with Elden Ring. We don't want to discourage the possibilities for this. There may be more ideas in the future.”
“We currently have no plans for a second DLC or a sequel, but we definitely don't want to rule out this possibility. We think there could definitely be something in the future.”
Yesterday, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the release of Shadow of the Erdtree in June and introduced the pre-order editions.
