Game news Phil Spencer teases the arrival of this highly anticipated feature: a good reason to buy your digital games on Xbox rather than on PS5?

The least we can say is that Xbox news is at the center of the subject at the moment with a particular interest in physical video games. Phil Spencer has just confirmed the arrival of a highly anticipated feature, but nonetheless in favor of digital games.
Always more cloud
Last week, Xbox finally clarified the situation somewhat regarding its future: yes, some of its games will arrive on competing platforms, but moderately (at least, for the moment) while Game Pass will only arrive not on Switch or PlayStation. And while we should see new Xbox consoles in the future, it is the so-called Game Pass which is galvanizing Microsoft's efforts and it will soon be granted a new, much-desired functionality.
This feature is based on the fact to be able to play all your Xbox games purchased digitally in cloud gaming: be careful, we are not talking about Game Pass games (which are actually playable in the cloud via Game Pass Ultimate), but its own video games purchased on the Store… and which are therefore not necessarily in the Game Pass catalog.
An arrival this year
This option “should therefore arrive this year 2024” according to Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, who confirmed it during an exchange on Xbox Chat with a user. And that, seemingly nothing, could be a serious argument for attracting more players to its fold.
In this way, it would therefore be possible to play its entire game library – recent titles as well as, a priori, very old ones and dating from previous generations – from your smartphone, tablet, TV or browser tab using a simple internet connection… and without an Xbox console on hand.
In an era where physical Xbox games seem to be seriously disappearing from stores, and in another where cloud gaming increasingly seems to be a future for many, it could indeed be a great weapon in the arsenal of the American giant.
For its part, we recall that Sony offers to stream its PS5 via Remote Play either via a smartphone, a tablet, a computer or via PlayStation Portal, its dedicated accessory released at the end of 2023. However, this is not about strictly speaking of cloud gaming since it is necessary to have a PlayStation 5 connected to the internet, which will turn on remotely so that you can play it via the object of your choice. Could it be that Sony will follow Xbox's trajectory in the future regarding cloud gaming?
