After much speculation, Samsung confirmed that it should release One UI 6.1 with Artificial Intelligence features for older smartphones from the end of March.
According to the company, the first devices to receive the new feature will be those from the Galaxy S23 line, and we will then have the software distributed for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Tab S9.
One UI 6.1, which debuted with the Galaxy S24 line, brings several new AI features grouped together under what we call “Galaxy AI.” These new features will reach older devices with the announced One UI 6.1 update at the end of March.
The Korean manufacturer also reaffirmed which features should reach these flagship smartphones, check it out.
Circle to search with Google: With this feature, you can circle an object or area on the screen to find more information.
Generative Editing: Users can remove unwanted elements from photos, reposition objects within images, and adjust perspectives for a more refined composition.
Instant slow motion: This feature applies AI processing to convert standard videos into slow-motion footage.
Interpreter: Split-screen conversation mode helps in real-time communication between people speaking different languages.
Live translation: Provides real-time translation for voice calls and within supported messaging apps.
Note Assist: Summarizes text within the Samsung Notes app and can even apply certain formatting styles to the summary.
Transcript Assist: Works in conjunction with the Samsung Voice Recorder app to transcribe audio. It can also create summaries of these recordings.
Chat Assist: This feature offers suggestions for improving grammar when composing messages. It supports 13 different languages.
In its statement, Samsung also made it clear that it intends to bring these and other AI-based features to more than 100 million Galaxy devices by the end of this year.
To do this, the company must release new features, in addition to delivering some new features in wearables, such as the Galaxy Watch, and also in notebooks with Windows.
