Despite the fact that Apple only focuses on the high end of the smartphone world, the reality is that it is one of the manufacturers that sells the most. Even if they are not the most recent models, the old ranges of devices drop in price, and continue to sell like hotcakes.
This is exactly why it ends up being nothing new for anyone to see so many iPhones on the list of 10 best-selling smartphones in 2023. But… 7 out of 10? This is new!
Top 10 best-selling smartphones. We have 7 iPhones!
Therefore, for the first time, Apple was able to secure 7 positions in the best-selling smartphones table for the entire year. Interestingly, they are also the top 7 positions, with Samsung only appearing in the eighth, new and tenth positions of the table.
Here it is worth highlighting that the table is the result of a market study by Counterpoint Research, where it is mentioned that these 10 devices managed to capture around 20% of the total global market share.
What was the best-selling device of the year?
It was the iPhone 14 with 19% of Apple's total sales share last year. Which curiously even means a drop compared to the previous year, given that the iPhone 13 was the best-selling device of 2022 with a share of 28%.
Something normal, since there were more differences between devices in generation 14, which ended up pushing more consumers towards the Pro and Pro Max versions. It is therefore very likely that in 2024 the iPhone 15 (base) will again gain another type of importance , due to the implementation of the same exact front design as the Pro models.
Interestingly, no iPhone Plus or Mini ended up making it into the table. But perhaps more curious than that, there is no Galaxy S or Z in the table, only very low-end models. Which is undeniably a bad sign for Samsung.
