I Boreali – Nordic Festival returns for its tenth edition, the Italian festival dedicated to Northern European culture conceived and organized by the Iperborea publishing house. From 1 to 3 March 2024 at the Franco Parenti Theater and at the Cinemino in Milan, three days dedicated to meetings with Scandinavian writers, films in the original language with subtitles, music and concerts, language workshops and Nordic brunches will be staged.
The program also includes video games, with the participation of our team Giuseppe Arace e Alessandro Bruni at the talk “Let's play at being Vikings: from God of War to Assassin's Creed, the Norse myth conquers video games”. The meeting will take place on Saturday 2 March at 6.00 pm at the Franco Parenti Theater in Milan (via Pier Lombardo, 14), in the Café Rouge room. Video games are a medium in constant transformation, in which Norse mythology has recently carved out a privileged position for itself. The fury of Ragnarök, the machinations of Odin, the rooms of Valhalla have made the fortune of productions with over twenty million copies sold.
Ai Boreali, the editorial managers of the gaming section of Everyeye.it explore the evocative declinations of this encounter between millenary sagas and technology. The advent of Fimbulwinter thus becomes the theater chosen by God of War Ragnarök to tell the story of the father-son relationship, the meticulous reconstruction of Viking culture transforms Assassin's Creed Valhalla into a teaching tool, while the journey into Valheim of Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice turns into the 'acclaimed portrayal of a mind afflicted by a severe form of psychosis.
