In the Steam surprise hit Palworld, light and shadow are currently very close to each other, as a recent posting by the developers on Twitter shows. The team at Pocketpair has reason to celebrate, but at the same time they are also struggling with serious problems.
Palworld hits 25 million players within a month
As the developers announced via social media, Palworld broke the 25 million player mark within a month of release. Of these, 15 million players are on Steam and 10 million players are on Xbox as a platform:

On the other hand, Pocketpair assures that they will continue to work on bug fixes with high priority and continue the fight against cheaters. The latter is also sorely needed because Palworld has a real cheating problem on the public servers. The developers have already admitted that despite daily measures against cheating players, they sometimes cannot keep up with the cheaters. This in turn is probably due to the fact that there is a relatively small team working on Palworld that is desperately looking for new members.
In order to contain the cheating problem in the long term, Pocketpair is now planning to introduce an external anti-cheat solution that is mandatory for the official servers. Players in single player and co-op mode as well as on community servers can activate the system at their own request after its introduction.
The community's reactions to the news about the number of players are mostly positive, but there are also some critical voices mixed in. The condition of the Xbox version is apparently making fans angry. If the developers manage to improve server stability on the Microsoft console and fix annoying bugs, there shouldn't be much standing in the way of another rush of players.
