Warner Bros announced this week that the film Wonka is very close to having its debut on the HBO Max streaming platform, which should be called Max soon. The film will arrive on the service a few months after its release in theaters.
Starring Timothée Chalamet, the film will be added to the platform's catalog on March 8. The production was launched in Brazil in December last year and was a relative success in the country, selling out several cinemas across the country.
The production features Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins and Olivia Colman in the cast, and the feature film shows the life of Willy Wonka, the famous character from the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, from an unprecedented perspective.
In Wonka, the script tells the story of the chocolate magnate in his younger version, played by actor Timothée Chalamet, and we follow the beginning of everything, from his first contact with the Oompa-Loompas, other classic characters from the big screen.
Critics pointed out that Wonka is a fun, charismatic and very colorful musical. Its songs seek to enchant children and adults who grew up watching previous editions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but the film seeks a more renewed identity.
