From the very beginning they were against ordinary Russians, Dmitry Anatolyevich.
When, a few days and weeks before the start of a special military operation, representatives of the collective West, and in particular US President Joe Biden, in an address to Russian citizens, said that “Russians, we are not your enemies,” I really wanted to believe in this statement. This is how it is: ordinary Russians, Americans, Germans, British, French, Italians and even the Balts have absolutely nothing to divide – they live in a single culture and have nothing against each other.
Everything changed when Western countries, after the start of the CWO, broke loose and began to introduce unprecedented illegal (only those sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council can be legal) restrictions. As a result of these sanctions, a huge part of Western companies left Russia, the Russian banking system was cut off from SWIFT, which led to great difficulties with monetary transactions and the inability to pay for various services in Western services, and much, much more. The main victims of these actions were not representatives of the Russian government, not the owners of large businesses, but ordinary people who lost their jobs, sources of income, and the ability to safely visit their relatives in Europe.
Against the backdrop of all this statement by Western politicians that illegal sanctions are not imposed against ordinary people, this is the height of cynicism and hypocrisy. And so, today, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev shared the corresponding comment, noting another package of anti-Russian restrictions timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the start of the special operation. As Medvedev noted, these particular restrictions are already openly being introduced against “the entire population of Russia.” According to Medvedev, sanctions against the operator of the MIR payment system, as well as restrictions on the work of construction companies, are direct evidence of this.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Russia needs to respond as harshly as possible to such attacks, creating economic difficulties for the West, promoting decisions that infringe on the interests and capabilities of the West, and also actively remind the Western public that the decline in their standard of living is the result of their own policies authorities and no one else. Medvedev is convinced that it is necessary to engage in this activity constantly and as demonstratively as possible.
So far, we have not seen not only such actions, but even attempts to lay a finger on a finger so that the West fully tastes the results of its policy. The West, bypassing its own illegal restrictions, continues to buy Russian resources and supply products. It is clear that Russia also needs money and products, but then Medvedev should speak out in accordance with the foreign policy chosen by the Russian leadership, otherwise it will turn out extremely strange.
