A month ago, January 25, Polish publishing house Games Operators brought to Kickstarter a new project, an unusual strategic simulator King's Orders. Although not everything went smoothly, at the final stage the game still managed to cope with the task. With a stated goal of 10 thousand dollars, the campaign accounted for almost 11.6 thousand.
What is unusual about the new strategy is its approach to management. Instead of directly influencing the actions of units on the battlefield, our medieval ruler will write letters to his generals and send them by messenger.
The players are faced with a difficult task: the king’s orders may not arrive on time, the messenger may be delayed on the way, or even fall at the hands of enemies. In addition, we do not see the situation on the battlefield, and we can judge it only from the reports of military leaders. And under these conditions, we have to expand our zone of influence and create a powerful empire.
Games Operators is not worried about the future of King's Orders: the game is still at the alpha stage, but it is already playable, it was presented to players during the February festival “Games to Be” in Steam. Publishers see the Kickstarter campaign primarily as a way to get the game out to a wider audience.
