Marcus has been with the team for less than three years.
Marcus Lehto, one of the creators of Halo, has left Electronic Arts. At the head of the Ridgeline Games studio, Marcus worked on the next part of Battlefield.
Lehto joined Electronic Arts in October 2021 and left the company in February 2024. Neither Marcus, nor his colleagues, nor representatives of Electronic Arts reported why the developer decided to quit.
Until recently, fans noticed, Lehto was actively communicating with members of his Battlefield team. Apparently, Marcus quit two weeks after meeting with the team.
Under the leadership of Lehto, the studio Ridgeline Games was supposed to make a single-player part of Battlefield. The existence of the game became known in 2022, when Electronic Arts was reconsidering its approach to the development of the series after the problems of Battlefield 2042.
In addition to the untitled game from the Lehto team, a multiplayer Battlefield from the DICE studio and an innovative part of the series from the Ripple Effect studio are in the works. All of these projects do not have release dates.
