In recent years there has been a lot of talk about Cyberpunk 2077, but actually decidedly less about mods. This is also thanks to the work done by both CD Projekt RED and NVIDIA with all the latest technologies applied which have effectively made it a real benchmark for gaming PCs. But how far can you push it? You can give us half an idea the version created by NextGen Dreams which is strongly inspired by the shooter Unrecord.
Cyberpunk 2077: how far can it go with realism?
The modder used a mix of mods already present on the net, for later make their own “Unrecord Bodycam Reshade” which is currently in alpha phase. The result applied to Cyberpunk 2077 is what you can see in the video below and it's really SCARY!
NextGen Record took the assets from the “Nova LUT Original by theCyanideX” and “Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project by HalkHogan” mods, and used a camera fix that applies the bodycam effect, with distortion and vignetting at the edges. He applied his work to this.
The result is something extremely realistic running at 4K@60fps on an NVIDIA RTX 4090. The game world doesn't even seem to be the same anymore, and only a few peculiar details allow us to recognize the original work of CD Projekt RED.
However, it must be said that this extremely realistic graphic style perhaps does not apply well to a game with the style of Cyberpunk 2077. This is because it has to sacrifice neon lights, color saturation, sharp shadows, contrasts and other effects that are a bit ' lose the sci-fi 'magic'.
