Chester's embrace with the fans who loved him seems like an impossible embrace to dissolve, either almost seven years after the moment in which the Linkin Park singer he decided to end his life. Last year he wrote “Lost”, a song that was supposed to be part of Meteora, the band's second album and then remained unreleased. Now it's the turn of Friendly Fire, recorded in 2017 and then left unheard until today.
Friendly Fire is the last song Chester recorded for Linkin Park before his death
Distributed by surprise through the band's official YouTube channel, Friendfly Fire collected almost 2 million plays in just a few hours. The song, as explained in the caption, will be included in Papercuts Singles 2000 – 2023, a collection of songs released from Hybrid Theory to date. The album will be available starting April 12th.
Friendly Fire, which you can listen to at the bottom, should have been part of One More Light, the last album released by the band with Chester still alive. In addition to the track of the same name, the album consists of songs such as Heavy, Talking to Myself, Nobody can Save Me and Good Goodbye.
We leave you with the song.
