Google is working on a new feature for voice calls. Called Audiomoji, it will allow users of the Google Phone app to use sounds to interact during voice calls. The new feature was discovered by AssembleDebug in collaboration with TheSpAndroid and SmartDroid.de.
After analyzing the Google Phone app code, AssembleDebug found 6 audios related to the Audiomoji feature that are described as follows: sad, laughing, applause, celebrate, drum solo and poop.
Despite this, only the drum solo has an integrated animation, which you can see below:
Based on what was revealed by the code, the new feature will allow users to use these sounds in place of emojis during voice calls to communicate. All sound files were made available by AssembleDebug at the links below:
It's possible that Google will add more animations in the future, as this feature is still in development as of September 2023, when it was still called “sound reactions.”
The last major update to Google Phone was released in May 2023, so the new feature could arrive at any time in the application, as it is already mentioned in the beta version's code lines.
