Baldur’s Gate 3 it sold over 2.5 million players during its early access period, but we don't know how much it sold after version 1.0 was released. However, Michael Douse, director of the publication, has now revealed that the acclaimed RPG has “far surpassed” ten million players in a “very short space of time”.
Douse talked about this in a Twitter thread about community moderation and communication following problems with mods. Official mod support is in the works for Baldur's Gate 3, but there have been issues with patches and hotfixes breaking mods, resulting in problems for mod authors.
Cromwell encouraged fans not to “get angry at the mod authors, support teams, community, or developers. Our goal is to patch the game while we work on future mod support. I understand why it's frustrating, so that What we all need to do is focus on the future.”
Il mod support is scheduled for release later this year, with multiplatform support. Larian has a system in place, but it requires more work and testing. Until then, it will continue to release patches and fix issues.
