Speaking to the newspaper after the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer, FromSoftware's top man hinted that he was ready to step aside and let other directors take over the direction of their games. Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn't even intend to take on the role of supervisor, instead leaving full creative freedom to those who come after him. Meanwhile, the Elden Ring DLC is expected on June 21st.
Bloodborne 2? Hidetaka Miyazaki calms hopes: “PlayStation IP, not FromSoftware”
Obviously we weren't just talking about Shadow of the Erdtree. Speaking of the DLC, Miyazaki is convinced that players will now be able to draw all the necessary information from simple gameplay. A now ritual question concerns the possibility of seeing a sequel to Bloodborne in the future. The 2015 game is almost unanimously considered one of the best 'souls-like' and even one of the best games of the PlayStation 4 generation.
In this regard, however, the director extinguishes all hope: “it's not up to us. The IP belongs to PlayStation, they have to decide what to do with it.” Although this is not a definitive closure to the possibility, this answer puts the idea of seeing a Bloodborne 2 away for a while, at least in the immediate future. Of course, it is always possible that SIE decides to take action and commission the sequel or (another hypothesis that fans want to cling to) hire Bluepoint to carry out work similar to that carried out with Demon's Souls in 2020. In this regard, some rumors last year seemed encourage such hopes, but since then nothing more has been heard.
