You've certainly heard the news, but Microsoft has finally decided to open up a little more and port some of its video games to PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. As a result, many wondered if we were going to see any Xbox logo on these platforms when the titles concerned launched…
A first port that gets people talking
This is certainly one of the big news of the start of the year: Microsoft Gaming has indeed decided to open up even more and bring some of its exclusives to the competition. For the moment, no Starfield or Indiana Jones as rumors claimed, but four video games coming to PS5 and/or Switch: Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and Sea of Thieves.

A first and nice batch of Xbox titles, the first of which has recently been available on the PlayStation Store and the Switch eShop: this is Pentiment, a role-playing and adventure game concocted by Obsidian Entertainmentthe studio bought by Microsoft in 2018 and specialized in RPGs (Fallout New Vegas or The Outer Worlds come from its corridors).
For once, this is a great opportunity for PS5 players, the adventure proving particularly original and fresh, particularly for its artistic style and its graphic touch directly inspired by literary works of the Middle Ages.
But with this release, one question remained: were we going to see an “Xbox Game Studios” jingle when launching the game on your PlayStation 5?
Discretion above all?
We must admit that seeing an Xbox logo from your PS5 or Switch is enough to make you smile… and for now, that won’t be the case. Well, not exactly. If you were expecting to get an Xbox logo somewhere at the launch of Pentiment, this one is simply missing: perhaps it is a deal between Sony and Microsoft, the former categorically refusing to allow its opponent to appear too publicly on its support, but we do not know much about it as it stands. In place, however, we have another mention: that of “Microsoft Corporation”.
On the other hand (and fortunately), “Xbox Game Studios” is still mentioned at the start of a new part of Pentiment, as in the original title. Because hey, yes, if the game exists, it's thanks to the Xbox branch to which Obsidian Entertainment has directly belonged for six years all the same… and it would have been unfair not to mention it, according to more than one Internet user.
Concerning the Bethesda games which will be released on PS5 or Switch like Hi-Fi Rush, so we should see a simple Bethesda logo and not Xbox…and we imagine that it will be the same for future Activision-Blizard releases!
