Some details arrive from Tom Henderson and Insider Gaming on the future of the Assassin's Creed series, also regarding the still mysterious next chapter following Codename Red, that is Assassin’s Creed Hexewhich is confirmed as the darkest chapter at all, with a release period foreseen within the launch plan which also includes due remakeit seems.
In addition to reporting various details of Assassin's Creed Infinity, the journalist also reported further information on the planned program regarding the next releases in the Ubisoft series, destined to remain at the center of attention for the next few years of the French publisher.
We have seen how Infinity is intended to function as a hub for access to the various chapters, but also as a style base live service to provide new content, events and initiatives for all chapters of the series also in the future, with release expected during 2024 together with Assassin's Creed Codename Red.
Assassin's Creed Hexe: the darkest chapter ever
So far we have only seen the logo of Hexe
The next game, still linked to the Infinity platform, will therefore be Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, of which we have so far only seen a vague teaser trailer which, however, has already introduced atmospheres and settings quite distant from most of the main chapters.
It will be the “darkest chapter ever” for the series, as also identified by the developers Ubisoft themselves, dealing with themes such as witchcraft and witch hunts in Europe. It will also be one of the few chapters to have a single female protagonistwho is currently identified as “Elsa”, but the name could change.
A full program for the future of the series
The release period currently expected for Hexe is 2026, probably preceded by the multiplayer project Assassin's Creed Invictus in 2025. Among the next projects currently in work at Ubisoft there also seems to be a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and another “remake” not better identified than another chapter of the series.
A mysterious person also appears in the rumors Assassin’s Creed Codename Nebulaintended to be a new main chapter after Hexe, featuring various different settings such as India, the Aztec Empire and the Mediterranean and an Assassin's Creed Raid set as a free-to-play PvE-style cooperative multiplayer game.
