A few hours after the abandonment of Electronic Arts by the creator of Halo, many new details have emerged on Battlefield Next thanks to a well-known insider.
Tom Henderson has in fact published a long article on his Insider Gaming portal to talk about the project in development at EA. According to what was declared by the reliable insider, the game should reach store shelves in October 2025 and will mark a return to the origins for the series. According to Henderson, Battlefield Next will offer 64 player match in which it will be possible to participate using one of the four classes available. Obviously he will also returnenvironmental interaction, through which it will be possible to destroy a large part of the scenario. For those wondering about the setting, it seems that the game is set in the modern era, more precisely between 2025 and 2030: in this regard, there will be a focus on the use of military technology.
The most interesting information among those revealed by Tom Henderson, however, concerns the alleged existence of a second Battlefield developed by Ripple Effect. More than a new chapter in the series, it would be a battle royale free to play which would play the same role that Warzone has for the main Call of Duty chapters. In addition to a battle royale mode, this free game should also include Gauntletan objective mode that involves eliminating teams that don't reach certain goals.
If this information were to be confirmed in EA's next announcements, it would mean that the rumors about the postponement of Battlefield Next to 2026 are false.
