Further details have emerged in the past few hours that explain some of the changes made by Square Enix Final Fantasy 7 Remake across the mysterious update applied to the game shortly before the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which apparently affect an element of theTifa's appearance and a snippet of dialogue.
Square Enix has not revealed the complete notes of patch 1.003 published by surprise before the arrival of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but some users have carried out a quick review of the contents and discovered at least two more obvious changes, without obviously excluding others or changes less visible.
In both cases these are spoilers for those who have not finished the game, so if you don't want spoilers avoid continuing reading, because one of the two in particular is linked to the final part of the game.
Tifa's appearance changes and more
Tifa in the Nibelheim flashback, before and after the update
The most obvious modified element is probably Tifa's clothing in a specific section of the game: during the flashback to Nibelheim, the girl now appears equipped with a black shirt under the dressa sort of tight top where previously she seemed to have nothing under the white dress.
The change eliminates the neckline but introduces an aesthetic element more in line with the character's subsequent look, so the change could be in line with this more unified vision of Tifa, even if obviously there was no shortage of controversy. Furthermore, the fact that the girl is a teenager at the time she is represented in this flashback would still make the modification made by Square Enix particularly appropriate.
The other change instead concerns the last fragment of the final video of Final Fantasy 7 Remake: as visible at this address, the sentence pronounced by Aerith seems to have changed from “I miss it, the leaden sky” to “this sky… I don't like”.
It also seems that applying the update disables the ability to use the mod FFVIIHook, which allowed access to console commands and was widely used by PC users to solve some technical problems. At this point we are waiting for any other developments on the issue, while we remember that for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth the video of Tifa and Aerith in costume has been viewed almost 15 million times.
