After his passage as Drax the Destroyer, it seemed that Dave Bautista was going to say goodbye completely to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His role in Guardians of the Galaxy It was one of the audience's favorites and the actor himself has greatly thanked Gunn for the opportunity, but it seems that he has not said his last word within the studio.
Through an interview with Gizmodo, the former WWE wrestler and now blockbuster actor stated that he still dreams of remaining linked to Marvel Studios, but with a much more important role similar to that of a supervillain instead of having a supporting role.
“When I said I was done, I was actually done with my journey as Drax. I still have a relationship with Marvel. I've seen Kevin Feige again, Lou [D’Esposito] just two weeks ago. I would like to have the opportunity to play a bigger role, a different role. Maybe a deeper role. I would love the opportunity to play, as a sinister villain in the superhero universe. Yes. But never. I'm not done with that. But my journey with Drax is over.”
The actor even stressed that he met with senior managers of Marvel Studios to learn more about the future of the franchise, dropping that he could secure a role in the future as a most sinister villain who will have to be defeated together.
However, in the same interview he also states that he would not mind participating in DC Studios, something that has been talked about for quite some time and that he himself has hinted at on his social networks recently. But, regardless of where he is, it seems that Bautista wants to remain linked to a genre that is still being explored after several years of stagnation.
