One of the main phenomena among indie games of the last decade, Stardew Valley is still being updated and improved through the efforts of its author Eric Baroni.
The creator of the project has recently been working on update 1.6, but the work took longer than he expected. But now Eric has announced when the patch will be released – March 19, although so far only on PC.
Along the way, the developer noted that the circulation of Stardew Valley currently exceeds 30 million copies, thanking the community for their support. Of all sales, the share for PC was 19 million.
Initially, update 1.6 was planned as a small patch aimed primarily at improving modding, but over time it acquired more and more new content. It is expected so much that the author recommends starting the game again, although compatibility with old saves will remain.
Along the way, Baroni is working on his new project – Haunted Chocolatier, but he interrupted work on the latter to finish the update for Stardew Valley.
