For the classic first-person shooter Unreal Tournament from 1999 (which is still indexed in Germany), a new RTX remix path tracing mod was released that reworks and improves the look. The mod was developed by James Horsley and can be downloaded here on Gitlab.
RTX remix mod for Unreal Tournament for an impressive path tracing look
The mod is a custom renderer for the Unreal Engine based on the D3D9Drv renderer. It has been modified to better support RTX Remix. Since the mod retains the game's original assets, you can admire a final result that has its own unique look. The 3D models, for example, retain their chunky late-nineties low-poly look, while the environment is shrouded in partly dim and atmospheric neon path tracing light.
