The last time Apple offered this much support was with the release of iOS 15 in 2022 which was compatible with the iPhone 6s Plus released 7 years earlier. Since then, the last two versions of the system have reduced this period to 5 years.
In this iOS 18 update which the firm considers to be the most important in its history, Apple could offer some welcome design changes as well as numerous AI features. These should, however, be reserved for the most recent models.
