Recently, Google's Artificial Intelligence platform generated some controversy. As Aroged reported, Gemini created racially different Nazi soldiers, which does not correspond to the reality of the time. On the subject, Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, showed his displeasure at what happened.
As he himself states, this error on the part of Gemini offended users and showed prejudice (via The Verge). Remember that, last week, as a result of the controversy generated, Google interrupted Gemini's ability to generate images, to improve the AI platform and avoid future errors.
The mistake with the Nazis was not an isolated case

Apparently, the misunderstanding regarding the appearance of the Nazis was not a unique occurrence. Images of the founders of the United States of America, represented in a multicultural way, also appeared on social media, which, once again, does not correspond to the reality of the time.
As soon as the controversy arose, Google was ready to issue a statement of apology, in which it guaranteed maximum focus on correcting the problem. Still, it was only this Tuesday, February 27th, that Google's top representative spoke about the situation.
Pichai says he works 24 hours a day to solve the problem, but emphasizes that no AI is perfect
How Google Got Here:>Legal: “I don’t want any Nazis, you hear?”>Product: “But.. but”>HR: “Are you a Nazi? Why are you so obstinate about this?”>Engineering: “We’d have to fake the weights, it won’t represent reality”Legal: “We must avoid any harm at all costs” pic.twitter.com/dCbPTycCE2

As mentioned by the same source of information, the company sent a memo, in which Pichai guarantees that he is working 24 hours a day to resolve the problem. Still, he makes the reservation that no AI platform is perfect, especially at a stage in which it is clearly growing.
In the same note left by Pichai, he also adds that the company has carried out a “clear set of actions, including structural changes, updated product guidelines”, with the aim of continuing to develop useful products that deserve the trust of customers. countless users of Gemini and Google products in general.
