The first tests of the Crucial T705 are here and it is becoming apparent that it is the fastest SSD in the world. We can even confirm this, because the PCGH test has already started and you will be able to read the results soon. Marketing promises 25 times the speed of a SATA SSD. That sounds nice, but in the end it's the numbers that count: 14,500 MB/s sequential reading and 12,700 MB/s sequential writing are in the room. Spoiler: The numbers are also just about reached in our test.
The Crucial T705 is the fastest SSD in the current market environment in benchmarks, but it cannot beat the competition in every practical discipline. But that doesn't detract as much from the experience as the price: whether justified or not, you have to be willing to spend over 500 euros for 2 TB. The hope is that the market price will fall a little, but the additional performance compared to the T700, which costs around 300 euros, comes at a high price. And if you're looking for money, you can get a Corsair Force Series MP700 R2 for just 275 euros.

If you really need the speed, you could also consider a RAID level 0 setup, which combines any number of hard drives to significantly increase speeds. Taken on its own, the Crucial T705 is pretty much at the limit of what PCI Express 5.0 can achieve with four lanes. And the T705 is also available with 4 TB. Micron uses 232-layer TLC (Triple-Level Cell/3-Bit) NAND flash and combines it with the currently common Phison E26. You will find out more about the PCGH test soon.
