More than 12 years after the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, one of the gamers managed to complete the game 100%. User pawelos4 demonstrated his achievements in a video and made his save file publicly available.
The player has done “everything possible” in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: fully explored the world, completed all quests (including little-known and hidden ones), unlocked all spells, maxed out all characteristics, abilities and skills, received all items and bought and furnished all the houses. By the end, his hero had reached level 1337 (the number was chosen deliberately and refers to the “hacker language” Leet that emerged in the 90s – the manner of replacing letters with similar numbers and symbols).
In total, pawelos4 spent more than 1,800 hours in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, but the “pure” playthrough for this character lasted 387 hours. He spent dozens of them casting the same spells over and over again on random NPCs to upgrade their skills to legendary ones. In an interview with GamesRadar, he said that while performing monotonous tasks, he would watch something on YouTube or Netflix to avoid getting bored. In total, approximately 80 separate sessions were required. The ultimate goal was to “test how far you can go in this game without cheating.”
However, the passage can be called “complete” with some reservations. With the release of patch 1.9, the character development limit disappeared: as soon as a skill becomes legendary, it can be upgraded again an unlimited number of times. However, this does not make them stronger, so pawelos4 increased most of them once and only “Illusion” – 4500 times in order to achieve the desired hero level. If he instead decided to upgrade everything to level 250, skills like Hacking would take him “20 years.”
pawelos4 did not use console commands, cheats or mods. Those who want to verify his honesty can watch an 11-hour video demonstrating the path from level 116 to level 1337. In reality, it lasts 43 hours – the author sped up the video four times so that it could be uploaded to YouTube.
Anyone can feel like the “most legendary character” – pawelos4 shared the save file on Nexus Mods.
Interestingly, extremely high indicators (7000 health, 4360 magic and 2300 stamina) do not make the hero invulnerable. As the author noted, some enemies – for example, magical anomalies and General Falx Carius from the Dragonborn add-on – develop together with the hero endlessly, although the value of the damage done remains quite low. He called the Ebony Warrior from the same addon the most dangerous enemy: he is capable of taking away half of your health in one attack.
This is not pawelos4's first attempt to complete Skyrim 100%. Three years ago, a user demonstrated his progress in a previous playthrough (YouTube). However, he said the newest save file “doesn't compare” to the old one.
Last year, streamer Vrexia showed off the “craziest” Fallout 4 playthrough without taking damage.
