Technology can also modify an existing melody.
Adobe showed off Project Music GenAI Control, a technology for generating music based on text descriptions. The neural network created by Adobe works with music in much the same way that AI like Midjourney does with images.
Artificial intelligence can create a melody in response to a simple request: for example, “sad jazz.” In addition, the neural network is capable of changing the melody structure, tempo, intensity, and so on, based on the user’s instructions.
Artificial intelligence can also refine the proposed melodies. For example, you can ask the AI to make the melody longer: then the neural network will generate a new piece of music based on the existing track.
In theory, using Project Music GenAI Control you can create remixes, generate backing tracks and obtain background sounds. In practice, only a limited group of researchers currently have access to the neural network.
The company cannot say at what point Project Music GenAI Control will become available to a wider range of people. The generator interface has not yet been demonstrated: Adobe showed only the results of the AI.
