Are you looking for a change from hunting Sephiroth and fighting dangerous monsters in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”? Then you should watch “Blood of the Queen”, which you can spend many hours with.
Although in the action RPG hit „Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth“ If the end of the world is coming, that doesn't have to mean there's no time to have some fun. The more than 30 mini-games in which you can lose yourself include the card game “Blood of the Queen”. This actually plays the most prominent role in the latest adventure of Cloud, Aerith and Co., which is why we would like to give you a few tips on this.
How does Blood of the Queen work in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
Before we delve a little deeper into the matter, a few general words about “Blood of the Queen”. This is a trading card game that you get to know in Chapter 2 of the role-playing epic and that you can play in every subsequent chapter from now on. You can always discover places where people are already waiting to compete against Cloud. In one chapter you even have to take part in a big tournament with Cloud!
If you defeat your BdK opponents in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”, you will gradually rise in rank. You can also unlock new cards that open up new strategies for you. The path to maximum rank 12 is long and it will take numerous hours until you have added all 145 cards to your collection. You can buy some cards in special shops, while others you have to win by defeating opponents.
The playing field consists of 3×5 fields on which you and your opponent take turns placing your cards. Each card has its own rank (1-3) and gives you a certain point value. Since your deck can only consist of 15 cards, you have to think carefully about which cards you want to play, especially later in the action RPG. Luckily, you can save a total of four different decks and switch between them.
At the end of a round, the points you have collected in a row are compared to those of your opponent. For example, if you have collected seven points in a row and your opponent only has five, the opponent's points are forfeited when calculating the points. The lower score always expires. So if the score is 10-7 in the top row, 9-12 in the middle row, and 4-3 in the bottom row, you end up winning the game 14-12.
This is how you win your “Blood of the Queen” matches in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
But let's finally get to our tips on how you can play your “Blood of the Queen” matches in the action RPG hit “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” as successfully as possible. Although the board extends over three rows, you should concentrate on winning only two rows. If you succeed, your opponent has already lost in most cases. It is unlikely that an opponent with one row will score more points than you with two rows.
So what should you focus on? You should use your cards to conquer fields as quickly as possible in order to gain control of a track. This works particularly well with “Rank 1” cards, as you can place them on any field that is marked green, i.e. your color. In addition, some of these cards can be used very flexibly. There are even cards that you can use to remove your opponent's cards from the field.
So focus on winning the top and middle lane or the middle and bottom lane. If you advance on two adjacent rows, it is also much easier to put your “Rank 2” or “Rank 3” cards into play. You can also integrate many cards that have a reinforcing effect, for example by increasing points in neighboring fields, into your game in a much more meaningful way.
By the way, the top priority should always be the middle lane, regardless of whether you choose the top or bottom row. If you control this, you control the entire “Blood of the Queen” playing field in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”, since from here you can react quickly to your opponent’s moves and counter them if necessary.
Which Blood of the Queen cards should you keep an eye out for?
Each “Blood of the Queen” card is based on a character from the “Final Fantasy 7” world, such as a Shinra soldier, a moogle or various monsters. However, as you probably already guessed, some cards are particularly useful. That's why we'd like to finish by briefly listing a few cards that you should definitely keep an eye out for during your adventure with Cloud, Aerith, Tifa & Co.:
Number 013: Castanets (Location: Chapter 2; reward as victory over Ned)
Number 095: Ifrit (Location: Chapter 5; reward in the BdK tournament, later also available from traders in the grassland region)
Number 107: Chocobo & Mogry (Location: Chapter 2; reward for the side mission “The Lost Map”)
Why these three cards? Well, individually they're not necessarily worth mentioning, but if you can get all three onto the field, you can start some great combos with them. In this way you can of course increase your score considerably.
