After the bubbly start for LocalThunk and its Balatro with more than 250 thousand copies sold, the independent title is now at the center of a particular case of gaming news. According to what emerged from the press release released by the development team on Balatro has been removed from some digital stores. How come? What happened?
The software house itself is responsible for shedding light on the issue, declaring to its public that it is aware that “Balatro has been temporarily removed from sale“. For now there is no way to confirm the extent of the damage for the company, which does not know the number of platforms that have removed the title in question. “We are certain that the game will remain available on PC stores, including Steam “.
This event will not constitute any problem for those who have already purchased Balatro in the previous days: rather, its removal from some platforms is a limit for anyone who wants to get hold of it now. According to what LocalThunk declared, “this is not a problem of the shops, but of one reaction to a sudden change in Balatro classification from 3+ to 18+“, due to the in-game content that would encourage users to gamble.
At the moment, the only Italian store that has removed Balatro is the Nintendo eShop: in fact, only the latter platform presents the 404 error when accessing the web page dedicated to the game. What do you think of what happened? Are you among the players who were unable to purchase Balatro due to its removal from the eShop in Italy?
