In June 2023, the game Crash Team Rumble was released. This is a project from the Toys for Bob studio, which offers players competitive multiplayer with the heroes of the famous Crash Bandicoot franchise. After release, the game received fairly average reviews from players and critics, but the developers supported it – they launched seasons and added new content. Now it has been announced that support will be ending soon.
Toys for Bob studio announced on February 29 that it is becoming independent and leaving Microsoft and Activision. All rights to well-known franchises remain with the American corporation, including the rights to the game Crash Team Rumble. A new studio will not be appointed to support the game; the final update of the project will be released on March 4.
According to the announcement, Crash Team Rumble will be played on March 4:
Will receive the latest content update. The game itself will continue to be available after the update. In it, players will have access to a 500-level pass, which includes all the rewards from the first three seasons. The in-game currency Crash Coin will no longer be available for purchase. Players will be able to use the available currency to speed up their progression through the Battle Pass.
Let us remind you that after leaving Microsoft, the Toys for Bob studio does not exclude further interaction with the company in the framework of joint projects.
