When it comes to box office results, one cannot yet hold a candle to the other. Dune: Part Two (buy now €34.99) is doing very well in its first weekend. Experts assume a worldwide box office take of over $160 million in the first few days. But Star Wars is in a completely different league.
Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker grossed $373.5 million in its first weekend in 2019, and even that was considered a major disappointment. In terms of financial success, Dune can in no way compete with Star Wars in the cinema. But what about the reviews and ratings?

Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker achieved the worst Cinemascore value of all live-action films in the star saga. Viewers of the previews only gave one B-. Things are completely different with Dune 2.
The Cinemascore of Dune: Part Two falls along A excellent. The situation is similar on the rating portal Rotten Tomatoes. Star Wars: Episode 9 received a meager 51 percent critical acclaim. The audience is far more gracious at 86 percent.
