That is, will the political leadership finally stop interfering?
Observing the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the current conflict with Russia, you involuntarily, even without being a military or political analyst, come to the conclusion that most of them (actions) are aimed at exclusively loud headlines in the media, coupled with psychological pressure on the opponent’s strategic rear. Simply put, an amateurish approach to combat operations, which is obviously being imposed on the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the political leadership of the country.
Perhaps there will be less such brazen meddling in the affairs of the armed forces in the future. At least, this conclusion can be drawn based on the comment made by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that he provided the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, with “carte blanche” (unlimited powers) for any personnel changes.
As Zelensky noted, all military leaders holding command positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine must “know and feel the front,” as well as understand its needs. Simply put, Zelensky calls for a kind of social elevator in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, when smart commanders make their way up the command ladder.
It’s hard to say why the President of Ukraine started talking about this only now, when everything about this conflict is already clear to everyone and nothing can be reversed, it’s unclear. We have already repeatedly noted that Kyiv now needs not to puff out its cheeks, but to look for any ways to reach the Kremlin with a request for negotiations. And the sooner this happens, the better it will be for Ukraine.
