John Cena has decided to open his own OnlyFans. A surprise announcement that certainly caught everyone off guard, but which is aimed at push the marketing campaign for Ricky Stanicky, a film released on Prime Video on March 7 and which will see the wrestler in the role of the eponymous character. In one move, John Cena not only gave media coverage to the film, but also created it some sort of connection between it and the real world. A gimmick similar to the one used by Amazon itself with the Vought Channel, dedicated to The Boys.
John Cena on OnlyFans: someone didn't appreciate it
Ricky Stanicky is in fact a stripper with numerous identities and who, in the film, will be hired to play old friends. There the truth is that these friends never actually existed and they represent only a ploy, by the husbands in question – including Zac Efron – to deceive their wives. Ricky Stanicky's profile, consequently, is full of double meanings and puns related to his work.
Unfortunately, misunderstandings are very frequent even in the internet age. As was perhaps predictable, several people were shocked by John Cena's arrival on OnlyFans and above all by the phrases mentioned previously, perhaps because they were unaware of the existence of Ricky Stanicky. What is certain is that the marketing operation paid off. The film directed by Peter Farrelly has acquired considerable resonance, reaching even those who knew nothing about it until two weeks ago. Furthermore, as reported by Marca, Ricky Stanicky's Onlyfans profile has skyrocketed to over 70,000 followers.
Of course, then the question remains what people find interesting about paying an OnlyFans to look at empty photos where no one can be seen, but that's another matter.
