After giving a more in-depth demonstration of its combat system, Rise of the Ronin, the new PlayStation 5 exclusive curated by the authors of Nioh and Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, is preparing for its increasingly imminent debut on the market.
In the meantime we await the few weeks that separate us from the arrival of the action game set in late 19th century Japan, Rise of the Ronin has received its rating from the Singapore Rating Board. The verdict sees the awarding of classification 18+ due to the presence of content dedicated to an adult audience.
More specifically, the M18 rating is attributed to Graphic depictions of the game's violence and bloodshed, with scenes showing characters scarred, impaled, and even decapitated, resulting in realistic depictions of combat. These items are accompanied by optional content they cover sentimental themes, including implications of intimacy between characters. According to the rating, included are “optional scenes of same-sex characters believed to be romantically attracted to each other, or assumed to be engaging in intimacy, including one woman positioning herself on top of another before the scene be blacked out. Other scenes depict geishas dancing and playing music for guests, and sexual innuendos are present during conversations between characters without explicit details being shown.”
Expected at launch March 22 on PS5, Rise of the Ronin will also offer 4-player online multiplayer at launch.
