Guerrilla's next acclaimed PlayStation exclusive, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, will be released on PC on March 21. The port was announced at the beginning of the year, and now Sony has shared system requirements and new details for the release.
Horizon Forbidden West is a direct sequel to the 2017 hit Horizon Zero Dawn and one of the most exciting new PlayStation franchises created by the renowned Guerrilla Games. The game was released exclusively for PS5 (and PS4) at the beginning of 2022, in the spring of 2023 it received a large-scale story addition Burning Shores and eventually a complete Complete Edition (including the Burning Shores DLC), which was released on PS5 in the fall of 2023, and now is nearing release on PC. Porting the game Guerrilla to PC was carried out by the no less famous studio Nixxes Software, which was previously noted for the PC ports of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
System requirements Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition
By analogy with previous PC ports, the developers have specified several configurations (four presets in total) for playing with different graphics settings, resolutions and frame rates – from minimal to highest. So, to run at 720p resolution and minimal graphics settings, you will need a PC with at least 16 GB of RAM and 150 GB of free SSD space. In this case, the processor and video card must be at the level of Core i3-8100 / Ryzen 3 1300X and GeForce GTX 1650 / Radeon RX 5500XT. By the way, speaking of the GeForce GTX 1650, it still remains the second most popular video card among Steam gamers, although NVIDIA has already sent the GeForce GTX 16 series (Turing generation, which debuted in 2019) to a well-deserved rest.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition system requirements table
For comfortable gaming at 1080p with 60 fps and “average” graphics, Sony recommends a configuration no worse than the Intel Core i5-8600 and GeForce RTX 3060, and to plunge into the world of Horizon at “maximum speed” in 4K you will need a tandem of an Intel Core processor i7-11700 and GeForce RTX 4080 video cards, or something more powerful.
Separately, Sony notes many options for flexible adjustment of parameters and visual effects to suit every taste in the launcher and game menu – in addition to individual settings for texture quality, level of detail, shadows, water, relief, etc., adjustment of the field of view and various visual effects is mentioned, such as motion blur and grain effect. They also promise switches for setting full-screen effects, such as radial blur, lens flare, glow and vignette.
Horizon Forbidden West is released on PC simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Games Store, where pre-orders were previously opened at a price of 1,699 UAH. But there is one big problem – there are not even Ukrainian subtitles in the game, while Russian localization, unfortunately, is available, and complete: voice acting + subtitles. Unfortunately, Sony's approach here remains unchanged. The Complete Edition includes the base game, the Burning Shores expansion, and the following bonus content:

Sony makes very good money from releasing PlayStation exclusives on PC – it is steadily increasing its efforts in this area and systematically reducing the time gap between the launch of games from internal PlayStation Studio studios on consoles and PCs.
