A few weeks before the release of the samurai adventure, PlayStation and Team Ninja launched a three-part podcast episode on “Rise of the Ronin”. The first episode is now available to view and provides us with new details about the game world.
One of the potential software highlights of the next few weeks is certainly the PS5-exclusive samurai adventure “Rise of the Ronin” from Team Ninja. The studio recently attracted attention with titles like “Nioh” and “Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty”.
After PlayStation provided us with various videos for “Rise of the Ronin” in the last few days, in which, among other things the combat system and the weapons available were presented, a three-part podcast series started a few weeks before the release of the PS5 exclusive title.
The first episode of the podcast is available now and has a running time of 40 minutes. The first issue is all about the game world of “Rise of the Ronin” and the content associated with it.
The podcast is moderated by host Gregor Kartsios, who most of you will know from Rocket Beans TV.
A cooperative adventure for genre fans and newcomers alike
To give us an idea of what's to come with Rise of the Ronin, Team Ninja posted one a few days ago extensive FAQ article available. As can be seen from this, the studio's next big project is a title that takes us to Japan in 1683.
“After three centuries of tyranny by the Tokugawa Shogunate, the Black Ships of the West appear on the borders of the country, which then descends into chaos. Surrounded by war, plague and political unrest, a nameless warrior chooses his own path and holds the fate of Japan in his hands,” the plot continues.
We take control of a Ronin, a samurai without masters. In the role of the unwilling hero, we take up the fight for Japan's freedom. You can choose to play alone or cooperatively with up to three other players. Unlike the studio's previous titles, this time Team Ninja also thought about newcomers.
Overall, “Rise of the Ronin” offers three different levels of difficulty. Including a story mode for players who just want to follow the story. There is also the normal mode and a difficult level, which is intended to challenge even experienced genre fans.
“Rise of the Ronin” will be released on March 22, 2024 for the PS5.
