Resident Evil certainly belongs to it the most famous and popular video game brands of all time. Since the release of the first game in 1996 numerous successors and spin-offs appeared, there are even numerous adaptations in the form of films and series – each with very different success. If you've always wanted to know what the developers are about almost 30 years ago have been inspired by their work, you'll now get your money's worth. The horror classic, without which Resident Evil might never have existed, is now available completely free ready.
The “Mother of Resident Evil” now completely free
It is the Japanese horror film Sweet Home, which originally debuted in 1989. It is now available on Kineko Video's official YouTube channel completely free and full length ready for all interested horror fans. Although it is only available in the original Japanese audio, there are at least English subtitles. These should help the plot even without knowledge of Japanese to be able to follow better.
Sweet Home served as Capcom's main source of inspiration for later work in the first Resident Evil. Many elements will therefore seem very familiar to fans of the survival horror game series. By the way, Capcom published an official game for the film Sweet Home back in 1989. It was a classic RPG adventure that was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System at the time. However, it was never officially distributed outside of Japan.
