Sony has officially announced the PC version of “Ghost of Tsushima”. She got an appointment and the first technical details are also available.
According to previous rumors, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Wednesday afternoon that “Ghost of Tsushima” will be released for the PC. The launch will take place as a director's cut, like the one that landed on the PS5 in 2021.
The Nixxes team took over the development of the PC port. The release is scheduled for May 16, 2024 – both on Steam and in the Epic Games Store.
This is what the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima offers
The PC version of “Ghost of Tushima” comes with some special features. With the integration of ultrawide monitors, the title has been optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions and even supports 48:9 resolutions for triple monitor setups.
NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 are available with both upscaling and frame generation options. Intel XeSS upscaling is supported. NVIDIA DLAA and FSR 3 Native AA in turn help to improve image quality.
“Ghost of Tushima” also offers controller support on the PC. And with Steam Input, players can reconfigure the peripheral of their choice.
When using the DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, PC gamers benefit from the basic PS5 functions. This makes it possible to directly experience the tension during archery or sword fighting, for example.

The first trailer for the PC version introduces the features that are supported on this platform.
In “Ghost of Tsushima,” first released for PS4 in 2020, players take on the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior whose adventures are rooted in Japanese history and the traditions of samurai film.
The “Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut” followed in August 2021 and, in addition to the base game, includes the story expansion “Iki Island”, in which Jin travels to a new location to fight a Mongolian tribe.
According to Sucker Punch, the game has sold 9.73 million copies as of July 2022. This information may now be outdated.
New PC strategy should strengthen margins
“Ghost of Tsushima” is part of Sony's new initiative to increase the release of PlayStation games for PC. The goal is to be the last shrinking margins to increase:
With âHelldivers 2â A Sony game developed by an external studio landed on the PC parallel to the PS5 launch. The success didn't just surprise playersbut also the companies involved.
Today there was news that the “Helldivers 2” developer was supposedly taken over by Sony, which is what the Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt vehemently denied this on Twitter.
Curiously, the responsible (and unknown) insider also predicted the announcement of the PC version of “Ghost of Tsushima” for today. However, it was allowed another leaker served as inspiration.
