With “3 Body Problem,” the new series from the “Game of Thrones” makers will soon start exclusively on Netflix. On the occasion of the upcoming world premiere, the VOD provider has now released the final trailer for the sci-fi show.
With their series adaptation of the fantasy epic “Game of Thrones”, David Benioff and DB Weiss achieved worldwide fame and created nothing less than one of the best television series of all time. Now the team is back with a new series, which is again a literary adaptation “3 Body Problem”. On the occasion of the upcoming world premiere of their new show, streaming provider Netflix has now released the final trailer.
The video, which is just over two minutes long, gives us new insights into the story of the sci-fi story and, as usual, you can watch the final trailer for yourself further down in the article. “3 Body Problem” starts exclusively on Netflix on March 21, 2024.
They are on the way…
The events begin in the 1960s, when a woman in China starts doing things that are said to have fateful consequences. When the laws of nature suddenly seem to no longer apply, a group of brilliant scientists rush to her aid. Together they face the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. Can they still stop what's on the way?
The upcoming Netflix series is based on the three-part science fiction novel series “The Three-Body Problem” by Chinese writer Cixin Liu. He is one of the “three grand masters” of Chinese sci-fi literature. David Benioff and DB Weiss (“Game of Thrones”) and Alexander Woo (“The Terror: Infamy”) are responsible for the series adaptation. They are also involved as executive producers and screenwriters.
Bernadette Caulfield (“Game of Thrones”) and Rian Johnson (“Knives Out” series) are also executive producers on “3 Body Problem”. Ram Bergman (“Looper”) and Nena Rodrigue (“Poker Face”) are also on board for the sci-fi series for the production company T-Street (“American Fiction”).
Other executive producers also include Plan B Entertainment with Brad Pitt (“Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood”) and Primitive Streak with Rosamund Pike (“The Wheel of Time”). The Netflix series is directed by Jeremy Podeswa (“Boardwalk Empire”), Minkie Spiro (“Better Call Saul”), Andrew Stanton (“WALL·E – The Last One to Clean Up the Earth”) and Derek Tsang (“Better Days”).
“3 Body Problem” stars Jovan Adepo (“Operation: Overlord”), John Bradley (“Game of Thrones”), Rosalind Chao (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), Liam Cunningham (“Game of Thrones”) ), Eiza González (“Godzilla vs. Kong”) and Benedict Wong (“Doctor Strange”). Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Jonathan Pryce, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng and Saamer Usmani also appear in other roles.
“3 Body Problem” celebrates its world premiere on March 8th at the SXSW TV & Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The eight-episode series will be available on Netflix from March 21, 2024.
