Apparently, Netflix is wanting to become more than an entertainment platform. The latest news about Netflix is that it will broadcast a fight between YouTuber Jake Paul and the well-known former boxer Mike Tyson. The fight will take place on July 20th.
The fight between these two well-known names will take place in the United States, more specifically at the AT&T Stadium, in the state of Texas. Remember that this is not the first attempt to approach sports by Netflix.
Netflix has already broadcast live tennis and golf events
The platform has already broadcast live tennis and golf sporting events, which, for many Netflix fans, can be confusing. The new event promises to arouse a lot of interest, as two media figures are fighting in an NFL stadium, capable of seating around 80,000 people.
Regarding the event that will only take place in the summer of 2024, Jake Paul says that his journey as a boxer is “crazy”. Remember that Mike Tyson is considered by many to be one of the best boxing fighters in history (via The Verge).

Apple has also invested heavily in MLS football games
Putting the situation into perspective, we can see that it is not just Netflix that has invested in sport. Apple has also shown its interest in football, especially after Lionel Messi's arrival at Inter Miami. The company founded by Steve Jobs signed a streaming agreement with Major League Soccer (MLS).
In addition to this agreement, it is important to remember that Apple, recently, and as Aroged reported, launched a sports application, called Apple Sports. The app in question presents game results, statistics, betting odds, among other features.
Taking an even greater “dive” into the competition, it is also known that ESPN, Warner Bros and Fox are interested in establishing partnerships related to streaming sporting events. A great example of this was Peacock, which saw huge benefits when it started streaming NFL games.
