For many years, Fallout fans had to be patient until Bethesda gave the GO for their own Fallout TV series, but in a few days the time has finally come. That's when the first eight episodes of Westworld director Jonathan Nolan's latest work will appear on Amazon Prime Video – and judging by the fans' reactions to the official release trailer, the hype train has now picked up speed.
Well-known song in the trailer sends fans into ecstasy
Fallout tells its own story, which is based on the Bethesda franchise, but in terms of content it should be understood as a kind of “Fallout 5”. We follow the story of Vault resident Lucy (Ella Purnell), who has to leave her bunker 200 years after the apocalypse to save her father. On the chaotic surface of the nuclear wasteland, she comes into contact with Maximus (Aaron Moten), a Brotherhood of Steel soldier, and Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a shady bounty hunter.

The official trailer for the series shows all three characters and gives a first insight into their motives. He also illustrates the typical black humor of the Fallout franchise, which will obviously not be neglected in the series. In any case, the makers showed a lot of skill and sensitivity when designing the trailer by choosing, among other things, the song “I don't want to set the world on fire” by the band The Ink Spots as the musical background. The song is also used in the intro of Fallout 3 and caused a lot of enthusiasm in the comments on the trailer on YouTube.
While the makers of the series are firing up the hype train again shortly before the release, there is more good news for fans: The eight episodes of the first season of Fallout are scheduled to go online on Prime Video on March 11, 2024. This means viewers can set off from the Vault into the Wasteland a day earlier than originally announced.
