The community of the co-op shooter Helldivers 2 from Arrowhead Game Studios has rallied behind a common goal – to unlock the promised controllable robots (mechs) – and after just a day of joint efforts they are already celebrating victory.
The fact that mechs would appear in Helldivers 2 was known even before the release. The developers were preparing to send robots onto the battlefield shortly after the game's release, but they encountered an unexpected problem.
The day before, March 7, Arrowhead announcedthat the planet Tian Kwan, where the production of EXO 45 Patriot exoskeletons is being carried out, was attacked by automatons – if players want to see mechs, they will have to liberate the factories.
Just a day after the start, the global mission to liberate Tian-Kwan was completed – the hellish paratroopers are celebrating victory. The developers kept their word and followed congratulations added EXO 45 Patriot to the game for unlocking.
The EXO 45 Patriot exoskeleton in Helldivers 2 costs 20,000 requisitions, is limited to two uses per match, and has a 10-minute cooldown between calls. The player must be at least level 25.
The release of Tien-Kwan and the unlocking of EXO 45 Patriot is not the first major development in the game's history this week. On Wednesday, March 6, Helldivers 2 received its first patch with balance changes, and not everyone in the community liked them.
Helldivers 2 was released on February 8 only on PC (Steam) and PS5. The game sold 1 million copies in the first three days (according to rumors, the figure has already exceeded 5 million) and topped the Steam chart for the fourth week in a row.
