Several rumors say that Apple is preparing to add a new button on the side of the iPhone 16 Pro. This has been called the capture button to help users use their smartphone's camera.
Corroborating this thesis we have the latest renders from the publication 91Mobiles that portray the appearance of the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. In fact, in these images we see a new button on the side of the smartphone, which everything indicates that it will be the capture button.

The source claims that these renderings are based on CAD files from the iPhone 16 Pro. Therefore, they provide an accurate representation of Apple's plans for its new smartphone, including its measurements.
As you can see, there is a new button below the usual volume selectors. According to 91Mobiles itself, this is the new camera assistance button for the iPhone 16 Pro.
How the iPhone 16 Pro capture button will work
The main objective of this new button is to offer users a shortcut for using the iPhone 16 Pro camera. It is a button that will replace the virtual shutter present in the smartphone's camera app.
Apparently, a light click on this capture button will enable the camera to focus. A normal click will be used to take photographs, while a longer press will start video recording.
This will be possible thanks to its pressure sensor, essential for understanding how firmly the user presses the button. Also note that you can slide the capture button to adjust the camera zoom as needed.
iPhone 16 Pro will be slightly larger than its predecessor
Another detail that these renders confirm is a slight change in the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro. The new model will measure 149.6 × 71.4 × 8.4 mm, which means it will be slightly taller, wider and thicker.
This will be enough for this model's screen to increase from the usual 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches. With a larger physical space, Apple will also take the opportunity to bring the new prism zoom lens that it launched exclusively on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
