The reporting surrounding the Xbox has recently been dominated by two topics. On the one hand, there is the huge wave of layoffs at Microsoft, which seems to follow a current trend in the industry. There were similar reports from Sony and Electronic Arts, which we also reported on.
On the other hand, the release of Xbox games on other consoles had put them in the spotlight. Pentiment, for example, celebrated its debut on the Nintendo Switch as an often praised adventure. The release of an MMO on the Xbox Series X/S could almost be lost.
This MMO is coming soon to Xbox
Square Enix has announced an official release date for Final Fantasy 14 Online on Xbox Series X/S. The release itself has been around for some time, but until now this date had been missing. The popular MMO is almost already in the starting blocks on the Xbox.
This is how the release is for the March 21st scheduled. In addition to the existence of an open beta, VG247 notes that a starter edition of the game will be available via Xbox Game Pass by April 19th. The website notes that the upcoming Dawntrail expansion is also planned for the Xbox Series X/S in the summer.
