This innovative proposal from Lenovo is possibly the future of the laptop PC. The Yoga Book 9i has the particularity of having two screens linked together by a 360° pivoting hinge and is accompanied by a magnetic keyboard. With such equipment, we can imagine dozens of ways to use it to be even more productive with a mobile device, but this innovation comes at a high price. Fortunately, the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is currently benefiting from a reduction of 900 euros in the official store which makes it more accessible.

Innovation is its strength
Can we really call the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i a laptop? Like a Microsoft Surface, we would be tempted to see it as a hybrid between a touchscreen tablet and a laptop. The Yoga Book 9i consists of two touchscreens linked together and comes with a wireless keyboard and a stylus. The difference between the main screen and the lower one is noticeable, the latter being able to act as a touchpad instead of the keyboard. With the pivoting hinges, it is possible to carry this laptop at arm's length and turn it into a tablet that can be used with the stylus. Finally, the hybrid side is also found in the connectivity, here limited to only three USB-C ports.
As for the screens, there are two 13.3-inch OLED panels in 2.8K definition (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) which support a refresh rate of 60 Hz. If the colorimetric coverage is excellent, the brightness does not even reach 400 cd/m². For performance, Lenovo sticks to a basic configuration with an Intel Core i7-1355U coupled with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, probably to limit heating on this particular format and optimize its silence.
A two-screen format that requires mastery
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i comes with Windows 11 Home and it is the use made of it on this dual-screen laptop that impresses. You can use both screens at the same time as use them independently of each other, however we may regret that it is not possible to deactivate one of the two screens when the PC is in tablet mode. The Yoga Book 9i is not complicated to use but it still requires a little mastery at the start. The software is perfectly optimized for 90% of use cases, knowing that this device is a V1 and that improvements will surely be made subsequently for the remaining 10%.
Finally, the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i includes a large 85 Wh battery which offers a nice surprise. The battery life was 7 to 8 hours during our test, this is not impressive for an ultrabook, but you have to take into account that the battery powers two screens at the same time. We obtained this duration with brightness at 50%, but you should know that it is possible to set a different brightness rate per screen. Finally, recharging takes place via a 65 W power supply which allows you to recover 80% of the battery life in 30 minutes.
